ABOUT THE ARTIST

At the age of 5, while summering in the family's lakeside home, the artist began painting and exhibiting in Saugatuck, Michigan under the instruction of Cora Bliss Taylor. At the age of 14, Jakara began attending OxBow in Saugatuck, Michigan. In the winters, Jakara continued her art education on the weekends at the Art Institute in Chicago as well as art classes through her highschool and, continued through College majoring in Art History and ongoing classes in style and technique. Working primarily in acrylic, oil, oil pastel, charcoal, water color and photography. Prices and additional information available upon request at the email address provided, jakaraart@yahoo.com. Jakara Art Opening
